We have had a great beginning to the third quarter of the 2011-2012 school year. It was great to see everyone again. Our students returned eager and enthusiastic to continue their studies.
We began the quarter with staff development on written language. Dr. Ruth Culham, a nationally recognized leader in the area of written language worked 
with both Salt Creek and Hedenkamp Teachers and Staff in the area of writing. She demonstrated model lessons and shared many wonderful examples of using literature to improve writing. I encourage all our parents to ask their children about writing.
mother/son dance
I expect to see everyone at this year’s Mother/Son Dance. The Dance is this Friday, January 27 @ 6:00 p.m. If you did not purchase tickets during the pre-sale, you may buy tickets at the door. This year’s theme is “Life in the Fast Lane.” I look forward to seeing everyone there with their “dancing shoes” on.
kindergarten registration
Kindergarten registration is right around the corner. To enroll your child, he or
she must be 5 years old by November 1, 2012. Packets may be picked up in our office beginning February 13 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration begins February 29 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please call our office for more information.
